Abortion

Do anti-abortionists really believe that abortion is evil, or do they just want to punish women for having sex? The following table makes a convincing case:

I always thought most of the opposition to abortion was due to religious reasons. While many religions due want to punish people for sex, I think that's a side effect rather than the motivation.
